I became interested in making fedora hats after watching The Raiders of the Lost Ark movie with Harrison Ford. I started checking out how the fedora hats were made, I made contact with anyone that was making hats & I ordered my first fedora from Steve Delk. Steve was making the fedoras for the Indiana Jones movie the Crystal Skull at the time, I stayed in contact with Steve asking questions about making hats, I also made contact with Marc Kittner who was working with Steve to get the fedoras made for the movie. I have a nice collection of information concerning the art of making fedora hats, & I continue to learn different techniques on how to do things. There is always something new to learn when it comes to hat work. My hats are handmade & handsewn, I do the work myself, & every hat starts out as a blank fur felt, I use very hot steam on the felt then pull it down over a wooden hat block, so each hat takes 2 weeks to complete. My Crystal Skull fedora is in a hat box, never been worn
