Economically Priced Decompression Valve
Product provides an economical replacement for expensive OEM parts. If it works, why pay more? Because parts like this often come from China, you must be patient in waiting for delivery, usually around 14 days. If you are not in a rush, this is a real deal!

Reliable, Durable, and Long Lasting
7 of 9 found this helpful I own many Echo chainsaws. In my opinion, the CS-400 offers the most value for the average homeowner. Most chainsaws today have quite a bit of plastic on them, and Echo is no different. Plastic doesn't cut the wood. What is inside does, and that quality really shows through once you start cutting. The aluminum handle is tough and durable, just like found on professional model saws. While adjustable oilers are not all that essential with chainsaws that only handle shorter bar lengths, I still find them useful when using the longer bar and cutting hardwoods. I can dial it up a little and the bar stays cool. Again, that is pro feature. The variable advance timing affords fast one pull starts, yet maintains optimal performance at full cutting speeds. The air filter is of excellent design and utility. Just keep them blown out, and they last a long time, while providing excellent filtration. The filters seal really well, and don't let anything get by. Echo's air induction system is excellent at removing most particulate matter before it ever gets close to the air filter and carburetor. That means longer running time between air filter cleaning. The saw weighs about 10.4 pounds at the powerhead, just slightly more than advertised, and has a combined weight including the 18" bar and chain of around 12.18 pounds empty. With a full load of fuel and oil, you are holding 13.5 pounds, which is not bad for a 40 cc saw. As a matter of fact, this saw weighs about the same filled with fluids, as the Poulan Wild thing does empty and dry, but you get much more cutting power. Here is my only word of warning. If you buy from a box store, remember that these saws are supplied in a very lean running condition to pass EPA air quality standards. Get your saw professionally re-adjusted for peace of mind. Adjusted right, they will provide many years of good service. Run them too lean and they will likely score a cylinder. Buy from a full service dealer, and you probably won't have that problem.
