Boost XT Outdoor Ultra Low Noise PreAmplifier LNA200S Winegard

Not strong enough

I attached this to the most powerful combination Winegard antenna available. The stations are about 65 miles away. The antenna is about 35 ft up. TVFOOL list my weakest station at 5.3 NM(db) which is a pretty strong red zone reading.. I am running 275 ft of rg11 coax to 75 ft of rg6. I have drop outs,and at times channels not even available. I bought Winegard for the reputation of the company, and in times past, a very conservative rating on antennas and amplifiers. They dropped the ball on this one for their most powerful mast mounted amplifier. If you live in a remote area, and have to run a lot of coax, pass this one up. I am buying a new amplifier with much better specs. I had the Channel Master 7777 titan but it died in only 9 months. The Chinese bought the antenna and amplifier business and cheapened all of the products of Channel Master.

No change in signal strength !

I took signal strength readings on 6 channels from the weakest to the strongest before installation. It took only 7 minutes to install which removes the possibility of atmospheric changes. After I installed I took readings again and none of the channels had an increase in signal strength. This item is only useful as a very expensive coax coupler.
