A history book in a travelogue
1 of 1 found this helpful John Steinbeck is an excellent writer, as we all know, but this particular book is also a history of the time in which it was written as well as providing insight into the mind of a restless wanderer. I plan to retire in a couple of years and live in an RV traveling around the country, so I was eager to read about his trip. I got what I wanted and so much more out of this book. Highly recommend it to anyone, wandering soul or not.
