    The Earlier Years
For Queen fans, this is a must for your collection. Anyone who loves Queen will be familiar with the video for songs such as Bo Rhap, but songs like Killer Queen, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Crazy Little Thing and others are also an exceptional treat for the eyes. The youth and vitality of the band at this period in their development is fascinating. Watch for Roger's ever changing hairstyles as the years slide by. Interesting interviews are found on Disc 2. The piece de resistance, however, on Disc 2, is the section entitled Inside the Rhapsody. Brian, Roger, and John give a loving account of the creation of Freddie Mercury's masterpiece from several perspectives. Particularly insightful is the section with Brian sitting at the sound board and using the different tracks that were recorded to demonstrate the complexities of the "orchestration" of Bo Rhap, and the beauty of Freddie's vocals. We give this DVD a BIG thumbs up.

    Like dude, this rocks!
If you grew up in the 60's or have a REAL appreciation for this music, the covers that Rush excellently execute on this CD will just knock your socks off! Summertime Blues rocks more than the original and Crossroads is as good as (GASP! Sacre bleu!) Clapton's!! Geddy, Alex, and Neil just do these songs the justice they deserve, stay true to the originals but in a way that totally reflects them. I love it! My only complaint is that it is too short, only 8 tracks, but crank them up, baby!

Queen fans: GET THIS ONE, Fer Shure
We are talking a quality Queen performance here. Freddie Mercury's execution of "Somebody to Love" is unequalled here. His voice is in excellent condition, he plays with the notes like a jazz singer and really puts his heart and soul into the performance. This alone is worth the cost of the DVD. Brian, John, and Roger, of course, are at their prime in this 1982 concert and play with finesse and gusto. They play a fair number of their songs from "Hot Space" and despite this being a widely maligned CD, the numbers they perform here are exciting and fresh. For those of us who missed Queen or were not born at the time of their reign, this DVD gives us a glimpse into their past glory and artistry. The sound quality, we found, was great, and the camera work, although sometimes off, is well restored. If you've never seen Freddie doing a pole dance during "Sheer Heart Attack", here's your chance. You can tell this band enjoyed what they were doing, appreciated their audience, and had a well honed act that was a joy to behold. True musicians, both in composing, and performance, they remain among the best rock bands of all time. We would give this DVD five stars. We love you, Freddie.
