Very high quality, but also very large with a relatively short pull.
It operates similar to a cable hoist in that it uses discrete ratchet clicks, both up and down, and the handle can only be operated in arcs, but it can be set to either side. The effort is very small due to a large reduction ratio and long lever. The feel of the mechanism is very secure. The only drawback is lowering is slow and because you need to ratchet down, like a cable comealong rather than overcome a clutch like some other designs.

Very happy with this rugged phone.

Rather thick and heavy, but still smaller, more rugged, more sleek and much easier to use than a phone inside a waterproof case.
I had a gzone commando once. this is nicer. works wet with gloves etc.. much better screen. good loud speakers.
