Not a terrible game but not a good Castlevania game
1 of 4 found this helpful As far as post Super Castlevania 4 games go, this is a bit terrible. It's easily my least favorite of the 3 available on the GBA. The parallax scrolling is limited to only one background, character animation is choppy, movement is sluggish until you find the power up that ALLOWS you to run and then you have to deal with a directional double tap anytime you want to run. The magic/card/DSS system is lackluster. Most of the cards and their effects are garbage. You'll end up sticking with only one or two card combinations and never using the others as they're either pointlessly weak, use too much MP or are ridiculously slow. There's just no balance in the system to actual make it useful. The difficulty spikes are pretty bad and you'll spend quite a bit of time grinding away baddies to level/catch up. This isn't a terrible game, it's just not a great Castlevania game.

The only GBC accessory you NEED
Honestly, I'm rather amazed that after all these years this thing still holds a charge. It sounds great and stops me from having to use regular batteries. I've bought many items like this for various handhelds and this is the only one that actually sounds good. If you can get one in sealed or working condition, do it. It's a must!
