Good show, mediocre DVD (no extras).
1 of 1 found this helpful While overall a good mini-series, good cast and well written, the quality of the DVD production itself is disappointing. The quality of the video transfer is mediocre (washed out, more SD than HD) though the audio is fine. It is not only lacking DVD extras such as a commentary track or even photo gallery but they had the nerve to include promos for other shows after the Fed warning when you first insert the DVD into your player. Subtitles are the only extras you get with this set. They also included teasers at the end of every episode for the subsequent episode making it seem as if you were watching a direct recording of a BBC broadcast and not a DVD. I suggest waiting to see if there is a 'directors cut' DVD in the future unless you can get this DVD at a reasonable price (under $10).
