good controller with motor reversing

I'm using this to control a treadmill motor powering a import mini lathe. the speed controller works great, keeping constant speed under load. the reversing switching works very well, but i expected the braking to be a little more aggressive. it only stops the motor a little quicker than it would without the braking resistor. i called the tech support line (because i thought it wasn't working) and they said to add another braking resistor in parallel to get faster braking. i haven't done this yet, so i can't say if it works or not. overall it works very well for what i need.
