got it for my android device. you need an OTG adapter between it and the device, but it works like a charm if you want put android on a LAN. was recognized immediately and assigned an IP address.

Unexpected problem

the nt1228bl is supposed to be able to read maxicode barcode (among many others). it does not do this by default. you have to scan a configuration barcode to activate this. i have done this successfully in the past, so i am familiar with the process. but it does not work with the scanner that was sent. the description for this particular product does not mention any specific barcodes, so i really have no one to blame but myself. perhaps that is why the unit was less expensive than other nt1228bl scanners listed for sale. descriptions for more expensive nt1228bl scanners usually mention the capabilities. the nt1228bl is probably the only inexpensive barcode scanner that can read a maxicode. the scanner itself is easy to use (and to customize). the purpose of this review is really only to draw users' attention to product descriptions before buying. if a product feature is not mentioned, don't assume it has it. in this particular case, i can't say the purchase was a good value.
