A Great Smartphone

I received my first Xiaomi phone yesterday. Of course, it was the Mi Mix 2s. Let me say at the outset that it's a stunning phone! It's one of the best phones on the market right now. I love the feel of it. It's very weighty and feel quite premium with its ceramic frame. What a beast of a phone! Since I received it yesterday, I have hardly put it down. Although it's smaller than I expected (it looks bigger in YouTube videos), it's stunning to behold. The screen is fantastic and the viewing angles great. It is bright and crisp and the colors pop although it's not an AMOLED screen like the one on the OnePlus 6. Some people do not like MIUI, but the 9.6 version update that I received after setting up the device is very fast and intuitive. I never used MIUI before yesterday, but I felt at home using it. I changed the settings and on use the iPhone-like gestures rather than on-screen capacitive buttons and they are awesome. I am wonder why some people complain about Xiaomi's skin on Android. One gripe I have is the absence of face unlock in the global stable rom. I bought the Mi Mix 2S because I also wanted facial unlock, but alas it's not in that version. I anticipate that it would be a part of the upcoming release of MIUI 10. All in all, this is a fantastic phone for $485. I wanted to purchase a OnePlus 6, but I have no regrets. Get it, my friend, you will not regert it either, despite concerns expressed by the US government about Chinese phone companies. This is a future proof buy!
