Requires additional efforts and costs
It works and the repellent is pleasant smelling but.... you need to wave it around from time to time so the repellent surrounds you. If there is a breeze the repellent will travel on course with it. It is hard to protect you and your companions with this unless they have one also. Additionally keep in mind the cost of butane refills and repellent pads which are only somewhat reasonable if you buy bulk.
