Static, Hard to hear.
I heard this is a perfect gift for twins and hoped it was simple enough for them to use. It is easy to use but there is a lot of noise (static) and not easy to hear when they speak to each other, even a few inches apart.
I heard there are better brands but wanted the Thomas the Train since that was the boys birthday theme..
