Heavier than expected, but fits my bike theme just right.
Haven't opened the package yet. Appears to be NOS.

Great starting set to an abundance of different track layouts!
The starting point/centerpiece of the imagination! When I was a kid building hot wheels layouts with my brother, there was always the problem of elevated starting points for the track layouts. We used chairs and barstools, but those were big and bulky and difficult to keep the books on all the track starting points. This set goes a long way to solving that problem with multiple starting points on the tower at different heights going in different directions!
I haven't yet set it up, as it's a surprise for my grandkids once we are over this Covid thing and they can come visit. And I am SOOO looking forward to building some killer track layout once we can!

Vintage product with design flaw

The car storage in the 'front' of the case is designed to store cars laterally (sideways). No problem, except that if you are not EXTREMELY careful when you open the case, either the cars in the front fall out if you don't have it tipped forward; but if you have it tipped forward, then the cars in the back roll out. Either way, if you have cars in the back and front of the case, some of the cars fall out almost very time you open it.
The current version of this 100 car storage case comes with a plastic divider that secures the cars in place on one side and therefore keeps them from falling out when the case is opened.
