Great little managed POE switch!
This is a great switch if you're looking for the speed, quality, and reliability of a managed switch, but only need 8 ports. It does have a modest POE power budget, but I am able to connect 6 IP cameras and still have plenty of power left. The web interface makes it as easy or as advanced as you want it to be. Out of the box it will operate like a normal unmanaged switch but is easily configured for advanced functions. With a SPF transceiver you can make this up to a 10 port switch. The SPF ports were designed for fiber but work well with the RJ45 configuration (at 1gig speeds only).
The separate power supply is a little bit of a bummer, but you don't often find an 8 port POE managed switch with an internal power supply.

Variable speed on the trigger! This allows you to vary the speed as you go.
