Although required reading for our local Jr. High / Middle School . . . WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???!?? Why are our kids required to read about a 14-year-old girl raped by an upperclassman at a high school party . . . isn't there already enough exposure to violence on the evening news without forcing it into our kids' curriculum too?

Although required reading for our local Jr. High / Middle School . . . WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???!?? Why are our kides required to read about a kid who sets out to kill himself, but instead accidentally kills an innocent bystander with his car . . . isn't there already enough exposure to violence on the evening news without forcing it into our kids' curriculum too?

Why are our kids required to read about a group of teenagers who break into and vandalize the home of an innocent family, then beat a 14-year-old into a coma . . . isn't there already enough exposure to violence on the evening news without forcing it into our kids' curriculum too?
