Danger. . . The heat gun from HELL!
3 of 3 found this helpful I bought one of these a few weeks ago. When it arrived, I plugged it in and tested it. Everything seemed to be OK. Last week, I picked it up to use it for the first time. The moment I switched it on, loud pops, sparks and flames shot out of the back of the gun. The fan motor instantly died. Silence. I was holding a death trap in my hands. What is worse is that these are so cheap that they do not have an over-temp cutoff switch. The gun just kept getting hotter. I immediately had to unplug the thing while trying to not set it down on anything that might catch fire. Once it cooled down, it went straight into the e-waste bin. It is just too dangerous to mess with.
