Absolutely excellent amp, as long as it is genuine JL.
3 of 3 found this helpful Even though I notified the reviewer below that his 3 star review was inaccurate, it is still there, so I post this. This amp was not replaced by the 600/1v3, the 500 was. This amp was replaced by the 1200/1v3. And there are plenty of people who believe that the HD amps, absolutely amazing excellent amps, do not power subs like the 'slash' amps do, which is why JL continues to make the slash amps as well, and they are so popular. The only concern about purchasing a 1000 is that there was some sort of licensing issue and there were like 8 different entities putting out 1000s that were not genuine JL 1000 amps, but in every external way appear to be JL 1000 amps. I am not saying any of the ones currently for sale as new are in this category, I am saying be very careful that what you are buying was actually made by JL.

matches the hype.
absolutely tremendous amp. my midrange Focal Utopia M were previously powered by a highly rated amp of another brand. With this amp, music, especially evident in vocals, is very noticeably more vivid, rich. also, the instruction manual from Morel is brilliantly well-written and clear (I am a novice diy installer).

worth the price for sure.
These are truly great. I have a high end car audio system which I already loved, but decided to change the RCAs because they were the only inexpensive part, they were Stinger 4000. So, I initially swapped to another brand that claimed to be great, their best, and man, was I disappointed, the change was audibly terrible. So I had a choice, now I knew that Stinger 4000 though inexpensive were actually very good RCAs, so I could put 4000s back in. Or I could try the very best Stinger. Decided to go for it and glad I did. These 9000 are a whole different level of excellent, they deliver clean clear vivid yet very smooth audio. I am very happy with this purchase (bought three sets, my subwoofer is still on the 4000 at this point in time).
