Best there is...

Vinyl records must be handled with care & cleaned, new or used, and certainly if played often. I own the manual Nitty Gritty wet-vacuum machine and every vinyl LP or 45 cleans up quickly and the sound greatly improved. Of course, owning a high quality turntable matters a great deal too.

Montgomery Clift: Beautiful Loser Barney Hoskyns

Good filler for Clift fans...

Not as thorough as Patricia Bosworth's definitive Clift bio, but 'Beautiful Loser' fills in some gaps here and there, and as a larger book than is customary for a biography, offers some interesting, previously unpublished photos. Hoskyns relies on Bosworth's book quite a bit, referencing it directly throughout, but with so few biographies of this once great actor and deeply troubled soul, it will fill out one's collection nicely enough.
