Thoughts on : Duet drum bearings and seal
1 of 1 found this helpful The kit arrived very promptly ( I think a day or so ahead of the estimated time). No instructions, but the procedure is available on YouTube. One thing that could use clarification is "how far to press the seal into the recess?" I drove mine slightly below the lip of the drum using a 2x4 piece and a big hammer. No leaks yet. Newcomers to this repair, which I was, should be aware that the outer drum is extremely heavy due to the addition of what appear to be concrete weights bolted to it, ostensibly to dampen the movements of the drum during the high speed spin cycle. The weight also makes it difficult to reattach the two suspension springs on either side of the outer drum. Other than that, the repair was straightforward and now the machine is quiet. So quiet in fact that I then noticed a clicking sound coming from the water exhaust pump at the lower front of the machine.... so I had to order a new drive motor for that, and now everything is working like new according to the boss..

Nice replacement brake light
1 of 1 found this helpful This replaced the LED third brake light on my '99 Tahoe. Easy install and worked just fine. I suspect that these third brake lights are not very weather tight (including the OEM from the factory). I took the old one apart because I wanted to see what could have failed on the LED light bar. There was a little evidence of water, but I suspect that the real failure was a small part that was either a capacitor or a voltage limiter. All of the LEDS still worked when I applied voltage to them, so it's not the LEDs that fail, but rather the ancillary components.

Exactly like the OEM Toyota 2F gaskets that cost much more
These are far and away the best head gaskets for the Toyota 2F engines like a Land Cruiser. As far as I can tell, they are manufactured by the OEM company and they are identical to the much higher priced gaskets that you get from your Toyota dealer. The key thing to look for is the copper rings around the oil and water ports. If your replacement gasket doesn't have them, it is only a matter of time before you get the dreaded oil-water mixture.
