Very low tech

This charges on a timer rather than sensing when each battery is full. Every charge cycle runs the full time, even if all batteries were just fully charged. This means you must wait for the full cycle to finish whether it's needed or not. I'm not sure if overcharging the batteries is harmful. It will charge 4 batteries or 2. For 2 they must be in the two rightmost or leftmost slots so those pairs of slots are charged in series rather than each battery being charged individually. This suggests a very low tech, cheap design. I put in one good and one bad battery and it did flash red.
