Not very good, and dangerous to leave lying around
It might never kink, but it also appears it will never lose the coiled set it acquired while wrapped. At a glance, it looks similar to a high-quality hose I use, but it's definitely not the same.

Same name, vastly inferior product
I've worn Gold Toe Metropolitan socks for ages, and finally needed to restock. The current product bearing that name is bad enough to send me looking for another brand. They don't even vaguely resemble the old nylon sock; these are softer, pick up pills and lint from contact with pants legs, snag even on human skin, don't have sufficient elastic to remain in place - in short, they're pure crap and I'll never buy them again.

Limited applicability
For lightweight pants, these are adequate. For heavier items such as chinos, those little strips of paper-thin felt just don’t have enough grip. Why reinvent something when very good ones were available many years ago? Closing mechanism is OK, at least for now, but the felt is simply inadequate for the job.
