Bar is made too thin...bends easily on JD 2155 with Bushhog 295 mower
Very disappointed. I had to go ahead and use it to do my work but saw immediately upon receipt that is was thinner than the original. see photos.
1 - Bar thickness - Original JD 18 MM lower bar in photo.
- this one 15.8 MM a critical dimension upper bar in photo.
2 - Swivel Ball - Original JD 1 3/8
- this one 1 3/4 Must reverse the JD holder at base/+washer
3 - Bar is angled more than JD at end so ball rides at angle to implement pull pin.
4 - The 2 ring parts that hold each ball onto the bar were made from material 1/3 the thickness of JD. It was so thin the welding blew out a hole in one. This ring part will wear quickly to an unsafe thickness and release the ball. The large ball may have been the reason they had to use the thin rings. In addition, JD used only one ring and bored a bevel into one side of the bar instead.
My tractor, JD 2155 with this Bushhog 295 mower has been in frequent use for heavy mowing for over 10 years. The OEM JD bar was bent when a latch pin released one side of the mower while it was in operation so that it climbed up side ways. I see that as reasonable failure.
The new arm....I used the AR77530 mowing as usual with above equipment for two hours. The bar bent about three inches along the whole arc. To keep working, I sledge hammered it straight (pretty easily). This is not Cat 2-3 level.
Do not buy it if you do heavy work. Update….Bent again on next day of use.

Old button caps will not work where they are missing on this unit.
The unit operated correctly. It does not have two button caps.
It was not until I removef the button caps from my non-functioning unit to put on the new unit that I discovered they do not fit. The bases on the new unit are larger with different attachment design. My car is 2000 Volvo V70 base. Shipped it back at my cost and received a partial refund.
