Microsoft's best operating system
1 of 1 found this helpful Microsoft's best designed operating system(Windows 7) is easy to install, fairly easy to configure, easy to maintain, good security when you have all security updates installed and good anti-virus program installed and running. There should be an easier way to install manufacturer specific device drivers. There should be a way to download Windows 7 operating system when your media (eg DVD) goes bad and you do have legal activation code and genuine COA. Hard drives do fail and you have to reinstall. You have to always have anti-virus or internet security programs running to guard against malware and viruses.

I was able to refurbish the laptop and it works great! The Windows 7 Home Premium operating system is great. I have laptop with minimal cost.

The Ubuntu reference book is very complete if somewhat dated. Its a good value, lots to read for little cost. Info on installing and running Ubuntu.
