This hone is a bargain. The oval cross section makes it easy to use and the handle fits comfortably in one's hand. The grit is a bit aggressive, so I learned to use a light touch for sharpening my kitchen knives. On the other hand, it worked perfectly for quickly re-profiling the blade of my Chinese cleaver to a razor-sharp chisel edge that is perfect for fine slicing.

Great Performance for a Great Price
1 of 1 found this helpful I've had this little guy hung between two trees at about 35' AGL for over a year. The first time I warmed it up on 40 meters, I had a solid QSO with an operator in Washington using about 200 W PEP. The antenna proper is excellent in design and execution, using hard drawn copper insulated wire, and basically bullet-proof hardware. It is my go-to antenna for all my HF work, and tunes up beautifully on all advertised bands without a tuner. With an inexpensive tuner, I can get all bands with VSWR readings that barely nudge the reflected power needle.
Unfortunately, the little 4:1 balun isn't of the same quality, and failed after a year due to water encroachment and a corroded solder connection. Quite surprising, because the thing was sealed in PVC pipe. It is salvageable, and I can't imagine this is anything other than a one-off failure.
Replaced the little balun with a better quality unit, and lofted the antenna again. Perfect! To make the conclusion even better, the newer balun is good for 3 kW...just sayin'.

A Must for SyFy Channel Fans
This is likely to be one of the most innovative series ever featured on the SyFy channel. The characters are interesting, the story is compelling, and the sets are great. Having read the books, I was pleased at how closely the series followed the story line as imagined by the author(s).
