decent read for java programmers (beginners to low intermediate) - definitely recommend
it is very well written book, technically acceptable for a blue collar language like java, well documented author, right to the point. rarely i find some things which could be done with more talent (like not doing composition in runable implementators in the multi-threading chapter). it addresses the java beginner and perhaps intermediate wishing to familiarize with the language asap.
from the typographical point of view, code examples cannot be easily pasted into a different place (ide editor buffer) and page end(s) sometimes break the last row in the middle.
