Good for hobbyists, not so much for precision drilling
1 of 1 found this helpful If a 1mm throw is acceptable I could recommend this. It's cheap, relatively easy to mount and does the job. It's easy enough to use and install, and will help in placing the work piece better under the drill bit.
However if you need a higher accuracy this is not the device for you. The laser beam is way too wide to pinpoint the exact location within a mm. In most cases I've found it is good at the best up to +- 1mm. This also depends on the material, as some materials cause more distortion of the reflection and this will further decrease the accuracy.
Another issue I have with it is the battery holder, which refuses to stay closed if the drill shakes a bit. Let's say you're drilling 40mm holes in steel tubing and the battery holder opens. This will possibly send you to a world of hurt when the batteries end up in front of the drill bit and burst to pieces.
Third issue is the holder, which while easy to mount, is way too flimsy for any kind of accuracy. What you want is a system where you screw the device on the drill permanently so it can not move under any circumstance. To achieve this I made up a custom mount from steel and mounted the laser right into the drill housing.
All in all it is an ok compromise between price and function, especially if you are willing to spend a little time improving it. However if you are considering buying a feeding table for your drill press you don't necessarily need the laser. Use a punch to locate the hole in the work-piece, mount it in the feeding table and precisely place it underneath the drill bit, hassle-free.

Good quality item with a few critical things that could be improved on
Generally these last for long. The amount of light output that is available is incredible and that makes the Aladdin oil lamp a perfect partner for an off-grid summerhouse.
The only issue I have is that the metallic hangar that keeps the mantle on the stock is too thin and burns over time, finally breaking off and leaving the mantle to stand on it's own. This is the failure mode on these - you have to remove the mantle housing every time you re-light the lamp, and during this process - especially when the hangar has burned off - the mantle has a tendency to dislodge and break.
I imagine this is something that could be fixed but there is no intention from Aladdin's side to do so, as selling new mantles makes for a good profit. The lamps themselves are long-lasting if you take care of them, and I would imagine decades of service if kept well. But be prepared to be buying new mantles often if the lamp is in constant use.

Looks are subjective but protection and price/quality ratio is good
This was bought with two objectives in mind: 1. it must be pink, and 2. it must protect the phone. Well, it is definitely pink, and it has also protected the phone well. This is our second case like this, we bought it after the previous one broke from the constant dropping. So far the phone has been protected relatively well and the case holds it's color and design even after much abuse.
Looks are subjective but the finish quality is good and it looks in real life like it does in the picture, so if you like the picture you'll like it once you receive it as well.
