Compelling Biography of a Complex Personality
A sensitive look at her life comparing the context of her times with our own. I found it fascinating although undeniably heartbreaking. Mary Todd Lincoln was a woman ahead of her times, although her deep attachment to family was timeless. The settings she spent different stages of her life in were very well fleshed out - the author also delivered a very good sense of the lives, times , and contributions of her ancestors. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and found it interesting and well written.
