Pure 80s fun!...
I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much from this CD. I was only familiar with two songs (I Eat Cannibals and Milk From The Coconut), but it turned out to be 62 minutes of pure 80s fun. The group's sound is equal parts 80s Dance Club, New Wave, and Pop; imagine a mashup of the B-52s and the Spice Girls, with some ABBA thrown in for extra flavor. Sure, the production and musical arrangements might sound a little dated by today's standards, but who cares? The catchy melodies and bouncy rhythms here are guaranteed to have you up and dancing before you can say "gag me with a spoon!" The sound quality of the CD is excellent, which is great because you'll want to play it LOUD. The only negative is that the original 6:32 12" version of I Eat Cannibals is missing as a stand-alone cut, but this compilation more than makes up for that with the inclusion of the Parts 1 & 2 Megamix, which is the 12" version and the 12" instrumental version combined into one long track. This is a great CD that you'll want to play over and over again.
