It was what it was!
I purchased the VHS for ONE of the episodes only. Unfortunately, being 21yrs old, the tape had degraded and was unwatchable. However, the upside was that I saw enough to go to by it on DVD.

Hugely informative
Hugely informative if you are interested in the early history of this area of Nova Scotia. A rich source of names, places and events - probably not found recorded anywhere else. A great reference work to the history of Nova Scotia.

Closer to what really happened in terms of events and crews behavior.
This version of the infamous maritime disaster may not match James Cameron's version in terms of
visual effects. However, after reading real life accounts form survivors, this story line and the events depicted appear closer to what really happened - such as showing the collapsible lifeboats and the night that some survivors spent standing up on an upturned lifeboat. The 'making of' docu on this Special Edition, is equally interesting and entertaining.
