Not an improvement
I have ear molds and the new tubing is a different size. Therefore not compatible. Also when I use the accompanying ear pieces and turn the volume up there is a lot of chirping. I'm going back to the old "touching model which have worked well for me for the last 5 years.

Perfect fit with right flexibility
Lays flat and stays put. The surface keeps stuff from sliding around, not like the steel truck bed. Also saves my knees.
