No nonsense workhoarse
2 of 2 found this helpful The KA3500 was the first new piece of audio equipment I ever owned. Purchased in 1977 I still own it and use it regularly. It is well designed and ruggedly built and therefore can be a good deal to buy used. I have bought 5 units on ebay over the years for specific uses where good clean sound with no bells or whistles are needed. I would never pay more than $150 dollars for one regardless of condition. That just happened to be the retail price in 1977. If you are handy I would (and did) look for sellers who say "the red light comes on but I don't have anything to plug into it so AS IS". My last purchase looked like it had sat in a garage for 20 years and was full of dust and dead bugs and spider webs but in 45 minutes it looked and sounded brand new. I paid $40 dollars for it. I would recommend this unit highly but remember, and this is true for all seventies era gear, there is a definite shelf life for electronic components. They will not last forever so unless you know your way around capacitors and transistors of that era go into the transaction knowing it's on it last legs and pay accordingly.
