Will not function without work
1 of 1 found this helpful Mechanically the shape of the switch is correct, but the electrical design is faulty.
In order to make this function with any E series flashlight that is not bare aluminium, it will be necessary to remove the anodizing from the ring at the base of the threads inside the switch so there can be electrical continuity to the end of the battery tube. E series flashlights are designed with anodized threads which are non-conductive and utilize the ends of the battery tube to complete the circuit.
Also the spring on both of the switches I purchased was barely long enough to contact the battery.

Usable but not 3.0 Ah
A 3.0 Ah 12 volt "makita style" battery for $15 would be an amazing value. But it seems the capacity is exaggerated in this case. Both of the batteries I received tested at 1.2 Ah actual capacity. I repeated the tests twice to be sure. If they last for a few years, $15 is a fair price for a 1.5 Ah rated battery. Time will tell.
