I bought this to improve my financial security by using it for online banking. It's great for that.
5 of 7 found this helpful Chrome OS is a very secure operating system, so I bought this Chromebook to use for banking. I do all my banking on this computer, and nothing else. This virtually eliminates the possibility of a banking trojan getting into my web browser and draining my account while hiding it from me.
Every month when it's time to pay bills or do any banking, I fire this computer up, check my bank balance, pay my bills, or whatever I need to do, then shut it back down. My everyday computer never touches any of those sites.
This computer would be fine for other basic computing as well of course, but they're cheap enough that you can dedicate one to banking/bill paying, especially if you grab a refurbished or used one. This is a practice computer security professionals increasingly recommend.

Improves printing immensely
My trusty Laserjet 4050 started running out of memory when printing complex documents, and that would cause it to act funny or malfunction. Pages would fail to print completely, or worse yet, the printer would get stuck in an endless loop printing a small range of pages over and over until it ran out of paper.
Since installing this upgrade, those problems went away. Now I can print graphics-heavy documents without trouble.
My 4050 has been a reliable printer for me for many years, so I'm glad I was able to use this to extend its useful life.

These are well-built, dependable laptops
1 of 1 found this helpful This model was standard-issue for business professionals in the 2007-2008 timeframe, so these laptops are a bit old, but the CPU is still capable of running modern software. When you put 4 GB of RAM and an SSD in one of these, it will outrun any Black Friday special from this year and will still cost less. Business-class machines tend to have higher quality parts in them because downtime is expensive, so businesses are willing to pay the higher up-front cost for reliability.
Be realistic and don't expect Core i7 performance out of these, but if you need a cheap laptop without sacrificing dependability, this is a good option. I still see these in offices from time to time, in spite of their age. They're still there because they work.
