Enhances G scale model railroading
One can add this switch engine to a manual turnout to achieve remote control of its operation. It takes 30 seconds to mount it to the turnout with 2 supplied screws. then run wires from the switch back to your control console and connect to an LGB control unit or other DC source/control setup which sends a momentary positive or negative pulse to activate the engine. Do not connect to AC source and do not connect to continuous source -- either will ruin the engine. I found that a 9 volt battery is a safe source. Your control needs to send a positive pulse to the engine to achieve one position, and a negative pulse to achieve the other. The LGB does this. If you build your own control it has to do the same. Then - fun! Works perfectly!

Terrific phone/tablet, well worth its modest cost -- super performance!
This is a terrific unit, well worth the money, even at its original price of $ 300. It's my 2nd ViewPad7, the first having served me well and loyall for over two years until the power connector went flaky (likely my fault). It is fast, reliable, solid performance. Its form factor makes it easy to read even fine print on the Internet, it's quick on downloads and display, and the screen delivers a bright, readable image. Bonus is that it is also a cell phone, which works flawlessly. So for 1/4 the cost of the big guys, you have all the functionality you could ever want - except Flash. Really, it is a darn shame that Viewsonic didn't bring this functionality forward to an updated model. I would have bought it in an instant. But even in today's smartphone market, the ViewPad7 is still one of the most desirable devices to use. And the vendor on eBay apparently has quite a supply of refurbished VP7's, so hopefully you can still get one. I was delighted to buy my second one!

Incredible capabilities in a really tiny package.
After I used a friend's GoPro Hero Session, I was so impressed with its incredible capabilities that I purchased one for myself. It has remarkable flexibilty and the image quality is superb. That said, it's not easy to set up and to operate and to get the most out of it, one might want to consider using it with a smart phone or tablet and the free downloadable app. Pairing the camera with the tablet is tricky but doable with a bit of practice. I didn't realize until I tried it, that the camera will transmit "live" video to the tablet. Neat feature! The refurb unit works just fine. Caution: it does not come with a microSD card, and the camera will not work without one. I already had a 32GB card and it works fine. The unit shipped with two mounting plates, one flat and one slightly curved, but with no ability to mount it to a tripod. I do not recommend trying to hand hold the camera; the results will be too shaky. All in all, well worth the price.
