Windscreen repair kit?
1 of 1 found this helpful I read mixed reviews on this but thought id try it anyway at a fiver its not like i stood to lose a lot. Followed instructions (which incidentally are very clear), couldnt get pocket of air out of stonechip and consequently it still remains there. Was worth a punt but you get what you pay for i guess. Makes your fingers stink for hours as well.

70's horror flick
very cheesy film from the 70's, badly dubbed and almost as badly acted, intriguingly watchable though.

Childhood Memories
When I saw this box-set for sale I jumped at the chance to own it based on my enjoyment as a child watching all of these films, plus the spin off series on a Saturday morning. bearing in mind these films are approaching 30 years old, the costumes, make up/special effects were truly ahead of their time and, coupled with some totally convincing acting from the legendary dapper british gentleman Roddy Macdowell these films were hugely entertaining.
When the newer version was released I was at the front of the queue eagerly awaiting to be enthralled but although the film wasn't bad and the effects were more technically believable I couldn't help but be a little disappointed with the story portrayal.
Needless to say, as these original films are relatively aged, they will probably only appeal to the generation like me, who grew up with 'Planet of the Apes'.
The first in the set is arguably the best, followed by four quite poor sequels, each sequel in turn slightly worse than the previous one but hey, it generated so many memories for me it was worth watching them for that alone.
Incidentally, for you film buffs out there, did you know Charlton Heston who appeared as a main character in the first film followed by a rather cameo appearance in the second, was also in the recent version, playing General Thaid's father? He also had a bit of a twist on one of his lines, where he said 'damn those humans, damn them all to hell'. Of course you know in the original his last line upon realising he was actually on earth post nuclear apocolypse was 'damn them, damn them all to hell'.
