Awesome product! Great value for the money! Easy to use, easy to love..
This is my second Canon Speedlite 580EX. I bought to use with my rebel camera, which is being used as a backup to the Canonn 40D. I weighed the options for many other flashes - older and newer, but settled on this one because of the ease of use and the great results that I've gotten from the first one - which I still own. There is nothing that I do not like about this flash, and the best part of it is that most other photographers that I meet in my profession as a freelance photographer always comes up to me and tell me how much they admire it - how it looks, work, ease of use, etc. and almost all of them would end with I'm going to look for that because I'm not too satisfied with the one I have now. I bid on about a dozen other offers before this one and lost each of them, so when the buy now offer came, my husband said - "stop dilly-dallying about with that bidding stuff and just by it. They might look cheaper at the beginning, but in the end it's hit and miss, and we can't afford to hit and miss in this business. It's a great product, but it is now a discontinued item, so anytime it pops up on ebay (or any place else for that matter), it moves like a hot knife through butter.

Amazing.
The initial idea was to use it as wall decoration our Enchanted Evening themed kids holiday party, but it was way too big for the intended space, so it became a table cloth and the center of attention in a different way.

Canon PowerShot A60. It's a wonder- Compact& dependable
Absolutely love my Powershot A60. Had one that died unexpectedly just when we went on an imprumptu scenic road trip, and I grieved my PS dearly. Bought another powershot - A630, I think - hated it. Used it one, packed it up with intent to give it away. I yearned so badly for the ease and functionality of my PS that no other camera - large, small, cheap or expensive - filled the bill. So I decided to take a gamble and go on e-bay, and I hit paydirt on the first shot. There were three sellers, one who was selling for parts, one who had a camera that was less expensive but not as well maintained - and this one who readily jumped out at me. The photo of the camera helped, because I could see right off the bat (if the sellers wasn't faking the shot) that the camera was in great (much better than my own) condition, but the price made me wonder a bit, because this camera was costly and it was being practically given away. So I read other reviews about the seller's level of integrity and accountability, looked over images take with the camera that she had posted, and felt her heart when she said that she didn't really have a problem with it and really ddin't want to give it up, but she had a business, and she had graduated to a more professional one. Word up: To the seller (who's name I can't readily recall), your baby is well loved, cherished and cared for and I'm guessing we've got a few more road trips together, includng one this weekend from NY to Ohio, because I finally lay her to rest, but the word that I want to leave you with is that I have the Rebel XT and the Canon D40 in my possession as a freelance photographer, and I will lay them down in a heart beat for my powershot. The only problem I had (with my own) was that the zoom range was not long enough, but then I solved that problem with a 100ft zoom lens, and baby got back. The Canon Powershot A60 takes great pictures at any range and has a really quick snap back, which is what I really like (for capturing those roadtrip memories)like the flags flying across bridges and overpasses on the highway to welcome our military personel home. My second pet peeve, that Canon saw fit to discontinue the product. My best option? I would buy again without a moment's hesitation if the need arise. And lastly, I commend e-bay for the services that they provide to us. Over the years I've brought everything from them from paper plates (honestly) carparts. And I honestly love the idea of being able to find useful vintage items without having to do scout antigue roadshows for the nostalgic items -- such as the yellow breadbox that my grandmother used to have (with the clear plast cover)- vintage, and functional. Okay, one more thing -- sorry about the autobiographical format of this review, but I hate short snippets of information when trying to make a life-altering decision and I'm sure someone will appreciate the candid nature of what I have to say. Sorry I can't upload pictures to the review (are you listening ebay webmasters?) I've got a great one of Yankee Stadim and another of the Verrazano Bridge that I took from my old Powershot that I'd love to share. As for this camera, it's only a few of the magnificent buildings in Manhattan -- ooh, I almost forgot to tell you how good it is with stationary objects, and the range in portraiture works great for heights (like the Empire State Building) and depts (like taking a water taxi from the Brooklyn Bridge. In a word --- Amazing!
