Electronics don't work on the Fisher Price Smart Car

I tried the toy when it was received & the electronus didn't work. I didn't take it out of the package until I gave it to my grandson on Christmas thinking maybe the batteries may be dead. I put brand new batteries in but the electronics still doesn't work. He lives to ride on it so would like another if you have one. Thanks, Delores Pongracz
