Works much better than my old Wifi card.
Previous wifi for a laptop wouldn't automatically connect requiring me to disable then reenable the wifi.
This card solves those problems, connects immediately, and has a strong healthy connection.

It works fine, but the 12V does pull power form both the molex and the motherboard's PCIE slot, unless modified.
1 of 1 found this helpful Ok, the good. It works well, it isn't too long, so it probably doesn't need insulation.
The bad, since there's 2 separate ribbons, it doesn't flex very well.
And now... the weird. TL:DR Had to cut the +12v(not ground) in the ribbon cable.
The the 12 volt power lines do connect both ends. You can feed more 12v into it with the molex, but they aren't isolated so keep that in mind if you're using 2 separate power supplies.
I had to modify mine by cutting the +12v wires on the motherboard end of the cable, to make sure that 100% of the 12v came from the molex. This way i could use a video card with it using an external power supply, without drawing power from my 120watt pico-Power supply that's built into my dreamcast mini-ITX PC. I was testing if i could make a PCIE dock for my Dreamcast PC so it could use an external GPU.

Pretty good for the price.
IO Crest was bought out by the popular Syba. I went with this card because i only needed 2 usb 3.1 ports. And my previous 3.0 card was too slow using PCI-E 1x and topped out at 5Gb/s. So with external SSDs it was limited to about 400MB/s.
With a USB 3.1 10Gb/s card, that speed doubles. This is a PCI-E 4x card so it fits in a 4x 8x or 16x slot. But it only uses 2 lanes. (8x slots are 16x slots but without all the pins inside.)
I haven't had any trouble with this card since i bought it. And i would recommend it to anyone that doesn't need Thunderbolt ports.
