How to live a Cross Centered Life
The plan of Salvation is the most wonderful thing in the whole Universe. God is absolute, independent and deserves constant praise and glory. When he sent Christ to live on earth with man he amazed all the heavens and the earth. Now Christ fully God and fully man lived a perfect life in submission to his father in order that those who believe in him and live in submission to him can have that perfect life credited to them. As a result our sin is added to Christs burden on the cross and we are given his righteousness. Salvation is the greatest act of mercy and grace. Mercy is us not getting what we deserve and that is God's wrath against our sinfulness. Grace is getting what we don't deserve and that would be eternal life. I thank God every day for the Cross of Christ. In his book Cross Centered Life, C.J. Mahaney goes through practicle applications of how to live in constant awe and wonder of the Cross of Christ. More importantly what the Cross is to mean for the Christian and his sanctification. The book focuses on how to discern between being legalistic, living by the rules just because they are rules, and living in total submission and devotion to Christ. This book is less then 100pages and is worth reading every week of your life.
