From the Front Lines of WWII - Breathtaking
No where else will you find a book so rich with accurate WWII history AND the human side of soldiering, the toll it took on the men who fought, the oppression endured by civilians in occupation and the cost of war on the entirety of NW Europe. Written by a Canadian Forward Observation Officer who was there, on the front lines, in no man’s land and even on enemy territory. This book (and the trilogy to which it belongs) is a treasure trove and a warning for future generations to make themselves aware of the history so that we/they never let it repeat itself.

Worth watching and worth owning
1 of 1 found this helpful This dvd was amazing, lots of f-bombs so be prepared if you've got small kids, but incredible actors who do a stellar job - classic.
This movie was really well done and I'm delighted to have the 10th anniversary edition that also includes a tribute to the irreplaceable Jack Lemmon

BEST WWII BOOK EVER WRITTEN & BY FRONT LINE SOLDIER - BLACKBURN IS GIFTED!
THE definitive book on Front Line fighting for WWII. Written knowledgeably, with incredible heart and profoundly deep context by a Forward Observation Officer. This book is actually two books in one (of a trilogy written). This one includes "The Guns of Normandy" and "The Guns of Victory". Both compelling, heartbreaking and awe inspiring all at once. The 3rd book, "Where the Hell Are the Guns" is equally as fantastic, and well worth reading and passing down the generations.
