Shinobi Legions (Sega Saturn, 1995)
Nov 02, 2015
A good Shinobi game that suffers from mediocre level design
Contrary to some of the complaints about this entry in the Shinobi series, I thought the graphics were great. They were digitized well, and really add a level of realism. The gameplay and different attacks available are also very good in this one! IMO, the thing that makes the game suffer is mediocre level design. The stages are pretty straight forward, basic and not very innovative. There is also one stage that takes place completely on mine carts in motion and its all about timing jumps - very annoying to say the least, because you just keep falling. Not a bad entry in the series, but not the best either. Pick up the Japanese version which has better music if you can afford it, otherwise, skip this one. Pros - Good graphics - Good gameplay - Nice arsenal of moves/attacks - Cool full motion video cut scenes between levels Cons - Stage design - Excessive platforming / timing jumps

An underrated speaker that deserves more attention!
This is a very cool and underrated speaker that's probably gone under the radar. It has a unique voicing that is quite nice, and does have a somewhat "throaty" aspect to it. It has a really balanced frequency response and doesn't seem to leap forward in any one end of the spectrum. Tight bass, solid mids, smooth highs. This leads to a nice and balanced yet smooth tone that responds really well to all sorts of gain applications. It sounds crisp, clear and open to my ears. That being said, I am mainly using this in high-gain stuff paired with a Jensen Jet - Tornado Stealth 80. Paired with that thing, this is an absolute metal monster! I assure you, this single speaker is far more versatile than that though. Check it out, its a nice one that deserves more attention.
Razer Sphex V2 Gaming Mouse Pad Ultra-Thin Form Factor Optimized Gaming 10 x 14

A super thin but well designed mouse pad with great accuracy and high speed
This is a great mouse pad that tilts more towards a hard surface. Its Razer thin (see what I did there?) but has a little grit to it, so its not 100% smooth/slick. Its a fast moving pad but with high accuracy. If you want a slower pad, you better stick with cloth though.
