DTECH USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter 3.5mm Headphone Mic Jack Converter

USB headphone connection works very well to give me a second audio output.

Switching between headphone and my desktop speakers was a pain. I had to unplug one extension and plug in another. I purchased a switching device that was poor and a lot of background noise. A better switching device looked to be $80+. I took a chance and purchased this little USB headphone jack. I was worried it would not work, but within a couple of minutes it works great!!!! I use the Settings application and the Sound panel to switch between USB and headphone (which is actually my desktop speaker. There is no noise, and I'm very happy with this solution. I use a Mac mini, about 2012 vintage.

Works well with a few flaws.

The remote would be much better if backlit, use AAA batteries, and have wider spacing between numbers. Even so, once programmed I find it very easy to use and great for switching from DirecTV to Netflix with only one button. Same for VCR. The programming is a bit of a chore, and it took me a couple of tries. Programming is all done thru your cell phone. The cell phone also works as a remote, but I don't use it too often as takes more buttons to access the correct menu. Overall, I like it enough that I'll probably get a second one for the master bedroom.
