FIRSTTRAX 80" Snowplow with Hydraulic Lift & Angling
I mounted this setup on a 1986 Mitsubishi Montero. It worked fairly well, but I always thought it would be better if it angled just a little bit more. I installed the SAM to this blade and was pleasantly surprised. The snow slips off much easier, so the angling is now fine and it throws it farther. The snow no longer sticks to the face of the blade when pushing back berms, a big plus. Because of all this, I also noticed the rig does not have to work as hard while plowing, so less wear & tear, and less fuel use. Overall, I am very happy with this setup.
As a side note. I trimmed the SAM to width of blade as recommended, but I did not trim off the extra height of the SAM to the blade. I left it sticking out from under the rubber spray guard, thereby extending it out by another 4". It works great!
