Craftsman 9-17816 Filter Fits Current Craftsman Vacuums 5 Gallons and Above.

Pass on generic fit characteristics

My particular large Craftman vacuum used a cover plate and a plastic nut to retain the filter. The provided nut did not fasten to the retaining stem but rather it fastened to the installing filter which does not retain the filter. The existing nut would not fit on top of the sealed filter cartridge end. Finally the container the filters (2) were shipped in did not prevent one of the filters from being damaged during shipping. I’d pass on this one.
