Java teak seat review

47 years ago I bought an iroko bench made by Harringtons. I have looked after it well and it is still in good nick. It is now rather too heavy to carry about when needed in a different position. I debated which additional seat to buy for a long time and decided on another good quality bench at a fair price. It was easy to order via ebay and it arrived quickly as promised in 4 pieces in a tough carton. Assembly was easy having read the instructions (I am getting older and wiser!). The bench was described as ‘chunky’ and it is. It is a good shape to sit on and spacious for 2 people and looks very good on the patio. I will let it weather till next year before considering treating it. With care using modern exterior wood treatments I expect it to easily outlast me. All in all it looks to be a good buy. 2 tiny negatives - the PVA glue bottle had only a tiny bit of PVA in it and this appeared to be already set up so I used my own; 2 of the dowels bedded down with about 5mm remaining proud. All the others were fine.
