Required firmware download for R36 to work with AWUS036NH...
3 of 3 found this helpful We'll trying it out of the box, it did not allow WAN to function when the AWUS036NH was attached and setup, taking me a few hours to diagnose a hardware/software issue. I later found a note in the shipping container that if I use a AWUS036NH I needed to download a firmware update and install it for the R36, after doing this it performed great using the enclosed instructions. Tip: Firefox browser allowed me to read the .ti site that displayed in a foreign language from English when viewed in IE.

Taller than air filter enclosure.
The filter system looks nice, a foam filter with expanded metal screen backup (no other filter behind foam). Unit was about 5/16" taller than original and would not fit within the air filter enclosure for Yamaha XVZ 1200, in leu of returning, I cut out the plastic and duck taped the seam to use.
Side note: Instructions say foam requires oiling before use or engine damage may occur. Oil is NOT included.

Win 8 system - positive results.

Does require installing the CD (included), plugging in the USB cable and allowing the OS to find the driver on its own (takes a little time), then rebooting once.
Found also that by turning off the internal WIFI, operation of the ALFA is seamless and fast for the subsequent uses.
