flimsy plastic
These wrenches are very light weight plastic. I don't think they will have much, if any, gripping power nor will they hold up with much use. I try to never over-tighten circular filters, but even still they can get stuck. I was hoping these wrenches would be a solution, but I got what I paid for.

good value, but could use more robust tightening screws
Overall, I think this is a great value. I'm replacing a Tilta shoulder mount base with this as it will enable me to use Manfrotto 501 QR plates with all my cameras. The Tilta unit is heavier duty, but slows me down when I have to swap their proprietary plate to a 501 plate if I want to run without my shoulder rig. Feature-wise, this seems to be well designed and built. It is smaller than the Tilta unit, so I've had to do some readjusting of components, but everything works as expected. Sadly, my Tilta arms won't attach to the SmallRig's rosettes, so I will probably look into some other arms that will.
The shoulder padding is a bit stiff and narrow, so I'm not sure how comfortable this will be for long periods of shooting. Maybe it will soften up with use. Fortunately, it appears to be a replaceable part, if it were to wear out.
Reviews I have read of the SmallRig VCT-14 receiver plate are mostly positive, so that may be a future purchase. For now, my ancient Sony VCT-14 receiver plate works fine.
The only concern I have are with are the very small tightening screws SmallRig uses on their products. I'm a fan of SmallRig products, but the small screws have failed me in the past, so I'm reluctant to give this 5 stars. Otherwise, I think this is a good product for the price.

Good balance between price and performance
1 of 1 found this helpful The Tiffen ND filters are good compromise between price and performance. There are better ND filters on the market, but they can cost significantly more. I don't recommend cheap ND filters as they will degrade image quality.
An alternate to a variable ND filter is to use single strength ND filters. These cost less, provide better optical quality (1 piece of glass instead of 2) and can be stacked if you need additional ND reduction.
