Karl Ove Knausgaard - A Death in the Family: My Struggle Book 1 (Paperback)
Mar 01, 2017
A moving & descriptive piece of writing
I felt compelled to buy this after 'BBC Radio 4' did this on their 'Book at Bedtime' slot in January. I was not disappointed.
Knausgaard describes his life; growing up; relationships with his family & friends; ups & downs (more of the latter) & it is easy from his writing to actually visualise the places & the people. His use of language is so descriptive, very occasionally boring for perhaps half a page, but it still compels & grips the reader to delve further into his life.
A moving story of his tales of life & there is something which everybody can relate to at some point in the book.
