High quality pro/audiophile headphones at a fantastic value
3 of 3 found this helpful Very comfortable with the felt memory foam pads and the perfect amount of clamping force.
Sound is excellent, particularly the bass is very satisfying, especially for an open-back headphone.
It has a little more bass-slanted sound signature compared to it's cheaper counterpart, the SHP9500.
The build in comparison is also much better than the SHP9500, it feels it's made of higher quality material and is sturdier, so I feel the price hike is justified and very fair.
The X2HR is a little heavier than the SHP9500, but it doesn't bother me at all, I'd still consider it pretty lightweight.
The auto-adjusting headband is very convenient, but will make an audible creaking sound if I move or touch my head or face. That's the only negative thing I can think of, though, and it's not a big deal to me.
It comes with a ~10 foot cable witch I like a lot, but some may find it to be too long. Thankfully it uses a regular and common 3.5mm aux cable, so it's easy to find a shorter replacement if you wanted.
I'm not a huge audiophile but these are the best sounding headphones I've ever tried so far, and I've spent quite a bit more on a pair of headphones before that weren't as good, so what I got it for, $150, is a great value. However, the price has fluctuated before from $100 to $200... still worth it for $200, but at $100 it's a downright steal.
